Heeding his own advice, “Wee Willie,” standing just five-feet, four-and-a-half-inches and weighing a mere 140 pounds, was a master of the bunt and the “Baltimore chop.” Regularly topping 200 hits in a season, Keeler batted over .350 in eight consecutive seasons and finished his career with 2,957 hits. Broadcaster Bill Stern called the Brooklyn-born Keeler, “The most wonderful hitter that ever lived.”
