Published by the Perez-Steele Art Galleries from 1980 through 2002, the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Art Postcard Series has long been a favorite with collectors. Based on the original artwork of Dick Perez, each limited edition postcard features a water-color portrait of a Hall of Famer overlaid with an action image illustration.  The card backs feature a standard postcard layout with the Hall of Famer's year of Induction and basic career stats. Each card was printed in a limited quantity of 10,000 and includes a protective sleeve.

Player Biography
In a meeting led by Chicago White Stockings owner William Hulbert on Feb. 2, 1876, at the Grand Central Hotel in New York City, the National League was founded. Hulbert stressed clean play in the embryonic circuit, banning drinking, gambling and all forms of rowdiness. Upon his death in 1882, future Hall of Fame member Albert Spalding wrote of the silver-tongued executive, “I ask all living professional Base Ball players to join me in raising our hats to the memory of William A. Hulbert, the man who saved the game.”
