Published by the Perez-Steele Art Galleries from 1980 through 2002, the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Art Postcard Series has long been a favorite with collectors. Based on the original artwork of Dick Perez, each limited edition postcard features a water-color portrait of a Hall of Famer overlaid with an action image illustration.  The card backs feature a standard postcard layout with the Hall of Famer's year of Induction and basic career stats. Each card was printed in a limited quantity of 10,000 and includes a protective sleeve.

Player Biography
Michael Francis Welch earned the nickname “Smiling Mickey” because of his pleasant demeanor, but he was a fierce competitor who seldom sat out a game. Welch became the third hurler to accumulate 300 victories and occasionally played in the outfield when he wasn’t pitching. One published eulogy described Welch’s relationship to fans: “Few men of the diamond occupied a warmer place in the hearts of the fans. He was esteemed by countless admirers not only for his skill on the mound, but for his exemplary personal character.”
