Lajoie Replica Early Base Ball Bat
Circa 1904 Popularized by Hall of Famer Napoleon Lajoie, the split-grip bat was used in both practice and play, and was an experiment in increasing the batter’s accuracy. The batter was meant to curl a finger under the extra knob. It was thought this would improve fine control, allowing the batter to “hit’em where they ain’t”.
This bat design is based on vintage bat profiles researched at the Baseball Hall of Fame. A unique conversation piece featuring the National Baseball Hall of Fame center brand. Made of northern white ash and given a golden oak hand finishing. The golden oak finish completes the vintage feel of this bat! Our replica bats are hand turned and will vary slightly.
