Player Biography
Andre Dawson was a supremely talented five-tool ballplayer, among the best in the game at bat, on the bases and in the field. The 1977 NL Rookie of the Year earned eight All-Star Game berths, eight Gold Glove awards and four Silver Slugger awards in his 21 years with the Expos, Cubs, Red Sox and Marlins. With Chicago in 1987, “The Hawk” became the first player on a last-place club to win the league’s MVP Award.
