This Phil Rizzuto Hall of Fame home plate by Barnwood Sports measures 18.5 inches across, with the players name and number, and includes the Baseball Hall of Fame logo as well. The depth is 1.25 inches. Made from distressed wood, this product weighs roughly 6 lbs and has a semi-gloss finish and works well for autographs. The backing is Grade A 1/2” birch plywood, which is sanded and stained to give the piece a finished feel. Hangers are included for wall hanging. They also do fit well into picture frame stands. All plates are glued and nailed. Proudly crafted by hand in the USA by Barnwood Sports.

Shortstop Phil Rizzuto was an integral part of the New York Yankees teams in the 1940s and 1950s, which won 10 pennants and eight World Series titles. Ted Williams once said, “If the Red Sox would have had Phil, we would have won all those pennants.” Joe DiMaggio claimed Rizzuto “held the team together.” While “Scooter” could handle a bat, notably hitting .324 to win the 1950 American League Most Valuable Player Award, his defense might have been more important. “My best pitch,” teammate Vic Raschi said, “is anything the batter grounds, lines or pops up in the direction of Rizzuto.”
