Rube Waddell  - Rube Waddell was not only one of the most dominant pitchers of early 20th-century baseball, but also one of its most eccentric and flamboyant characters, seemingly too outlandish to be real. With a blazing fastball and a personality to match, Waddell's antics off the field were as legendary as his strikeouts on it. He was known for his unpredictable behavior, including leaving the mound to chase fire trucks, wrestling alligators in the offseason, and frequently disappearing before important games. Waddell's life was a blend of remarkable athletic talent and theatrical oddities, making him a figure that transcended the sport itself. His extraordinary abilities and unconventional lifestyle ensured that he remained a captivating figure in baseball lore.

Daniel Jacob Horine is a highly acclaimed baseball artist known for his talent in capturing the essence of America's favorite pastime through the visual language of comic books. Born and raised in a small town with a deep-rooted passion for both art and baseball, Horine's unique blend of creativity, his love for the game, and his frequent collaborations with former major leaguers has made him a standout figure in the baseball art world. Player Biography
One of the top left-handed pitchers in history, Rube Waddell was also among the game’s most eccentric and colorful players. Waddell possessed a great fastball and curve, aided by pinpoint control. Walter Johnson said: “(Waddell) had more sheer pitching ability than any man I ever saw.” Connie Mack got the most out of him, as Waddell won 97 games for the Philadelphia Athletics between 1902 and 1905. He led the American League in strikeouts six consecutive seasons, including a long-standing record of 349 in 1904.
