Dave Parker played 19 big league seasons with the Pirates, Reds, Athletics, Brewers, Angels and Blue Jays and retired as one of only five players with at least 500 doubles, 300 home runs, 150 steals and 2,700 hits…A seven-time All-Star, Parker won back-to-back National League batting titles in 1977-78, also earning league MVP honors in the latter year…A three-time Gold Glove Award winner in right field (1977-79), Parker won the 1979 All-Star Game MVP Award after throwing out two runners on the bases in that game at the Kingdome…He amassed six seasons with at least 300 total bases, nine seasons with at least 20 home runs and earned three Silver Slugger Awards…Parker transitioned to designated hitter late in his career and was named the AL’s Outstanding Designated Hitter (now the Edgar Martinez Award) in both 1989 and 1990… A key member of the Pirates World Series champions in 1979 and the Athletics World Series winners 10 years later, Parker led his league in total bases three times and slugging percentage twice.
