Player Biography
Joseph Floyd “Arky” Vaughan starred for the Pittsburgh Pirates for a decade, hitting better than .300 every year and batting .318 lifetime. And fast!” Vaughan led the league in runs scored and triples three times each and in 1935 batted .385, a 20th century record for National League shortstops. Though not a power hitter, the nine-time All-Star homered twice in the 1941 Midsummer Classic.
