Negro League Baseball Stars 119 Card Set
Availability: In stock
Larry Fritsch Cards has produced and now offers the only set of cards available using actual vintage photographs of some of the greatest baseball players of all time! These rare photos capture the excitement and rich tradition of an important part of baseball history and the men who never got the recognition they deserved. From 1898 until 1946, black men were barred from organized baseball by a "gentleman's agreement." For nearly half a century, some of the nation's greatest baseball players performed in the relative obscurity of the Negro Leagues. This set is dedicated to those men. The set of 119 cards includes Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, Buck Leonard, Monte Irvin, Judy Johnson and Lou Dials. Also shown are many historic Negro League uniforms including the Kansas City Monarchs, Homestead Grays, Pittsburgh Crawfords and more. The Negro Leagues are an important part of Baseball History. Now, you can experience some of its rich and exciting tradition.

- A tribute to the Negro Leagues
- This baseball card set is a tribute to the Negro Leagues in baseball. These were players who played on these teams that were good enough to make the Major Leagues at one time or another. There were some players who did go to the Major Leagues but the other players of the great Negro Leagues never did. They were great ball players but never got the chance ever to play in the Major Leagues at all in their entire careers but there some who made it and I am proud that they did. One of them who made it was Jackie Robinson who truly was a pioneer break the color barrier in 1947 and achieve all the success he had while playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Though he never made it to Los Angeles with the team, he will always be remembered for his time with the Brooklyn Dodgers. (Posted on 12/18/2018)
