Published by the Perez-Steele Art Galleries from 1980 through 2002, the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Art Postcard Series has long been a favorite with collectors. Based on the original artwork of Dick Perez, each limited edition postcard features a water-color portrait of a Hall of Famer overlaid with an action image illustration.  The card backs feature a standard postcard layout with the Hall of Famer's year of Induction and basic career stats. Each card was printed in a limited quantity of 10,000 and includes a protective sleeve.

Player Biography
Tommy McCarthy teamed with Hugh Duffy to form the “Heavenly Twins” outfield duo for the Boston Beaneaters in the 1890s. McCarthy was a fine hitter with exceptional speed, batting .294 lifetime while stealing 506 bases. He was daring and intelligent, originating many tricks and deceptions, such as trapping fly balls to fool opposing baserunners. In 1888, he stole 109 bases to help the St. Louis Browns capture the pennant.
