Pulbished by the Perez-Steele Art Galleries from 1980 through 2002, the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Art Postcard Series has long been a favorite with collectors. Based on the original artwork of Dick Perez, each limited edition postcard features a water-color portrait of a Hall of Famer overlaid with an action image illustration.  The card backs feature a standard postcard layout with the Hall of Famer's year of Induction and basic career stats. Each card was printed in a limited quantity of 10,000 and includes a protective sleeve.

Player Biography
A.G. Spalding, the premier pitcher for the 1870s, led the league in victories in each of his six full seasons. His 47 victories in 1876 led the Chicago White Stockings to the inaugural National League championship. In 1877, he turned his boundless energies to the sporting goods business and also executive roles with the White Stockings, where he gained renown as the era’s top promoter of baseball as the national game. “The genius of our institutions is democratic,” Spalding maintained. “Baseball is a democratic game.”
