1990-92 Perez-Steele Masterworks Series Limited Edition art postcard of Carl Yastrzemski.  Perez-Steele Masterworks is a set featuring 50 cards designed in the style of four turn-of-the-century baseball card issues: the 1888 Goodwin Champions, 1908 Rose postcards, 1909 Ramly and the 1911 T205 Gold Border, along with a fifth card design by Dick Perez. The set honors ten living Hall-of Famers at the time of issue and depicts them as if they might have appeared on the five vintage card designs. This innovative card issue was numbered and limited to 10,000 sets.

  • Player Biography
    Carl Michael Yastrzemski won three batting titles, was named to 18 All-Star teams and played left field in front of Fenway Park’s Green Monster virtually flawlessly. Owner of both 3,000 hits and 400 home runs, Yastrzemski stated in his Hall of Fame induction speech, “I can stand before you today and tell you honestly that every day I put on that Red Sox uniform I gave 100 percent.” The 1967 American League Most Valuable Player spent his entire career with the Boston Red Sox, leading the league in runs scored, doubles and slugging percentage three times each.
